One of the key metrics you probably use in Google Analytics is Referrers. This tells you where your traffic is coming from. As part of its identification and tracking process, ONEcount will transfer users between your domain(s) and the onecount.net domain, where our software lives. If you don't make changes to your Google Analytics configuration, Google will think that onecount.net is a referral site, and within a few weeks, our domain will become a primary traffic drivers for your sites.

To avoid this, you'll need to tell Google Analytics that onecount.net is part of your web site property. You'll need to do this for each GA account that you maintain, but you only need to do it once.

Here's the process, according to Google's web site:

Adding referral traffic sources

  1. Sign in to your Analytics account.
  2. Click Admin.
  3. In the ACCOUNT column, select the Analytics account that contains the property you want to work with.
  4. In the PROPERTY column, select a property.
  5. Click Tracking Info.
  6. Click Referral Exclusion List.
