14 2. Select "Custom Targeting.
15 3. Click on the "New Key" button. This will open the Custom targeting: New custom targeting window, as shown below.

19 ~1. Define a key name, e.g. advertiser.
20 2. For "Values type", check "Users will select frompredefined targeting values.
21 3. Click "Add Values" button and enter the value you want to create. Usually the advertiser name - one word, no space or special characters works well; but you can enter any value that works for you.

23 Save the key/value pair. This pair can now be attached to a line item and used to target ads.

27 Navigate to Line Items and create a new line item or edit an existing one.

29 Setup is the same as any other line item, with the addition of two things:

31 ~1. Under "Settings", change the type to "Sponsorship" and set the weight as "2". (Please ask your DFP vendor to allow editable weight in this field.)

33 2. Under the "Ad Targeting" section of the line item, apart from other targeting criteria, add the custom criteria created in above step.

35 Pick the key / value pair created in above step and save. If there are multiple custom criteria, use AND logic.

39 Create an Ad Targeting Action using the defined key / value pair .

41 Create your segment in the Target Enigine and attach the Ad Targeting Action to it.
